Why Clinton is Soros’ preferred presidential candidate

No one thought George Soros would be back. After funding Bush’s opponents in 2004 to try and make that the former US president doesn’t get to power, spending more than $25 million, Soros went silent on matters of politics on His reemergence into the political scene is surprising. His reasons, however, seem valid.

Democratic candidates, Hillary Clinton included, have had the upper hand, being funded by the billionaire investor. More than $25 million has been pledged to the Democrats by George Soros. This is according to Democratic fundraising operatives. Some of those that work closely with Soros expect him to pump in more funds as the D-day gets closer.

As show his support for Clinton, billionaire had purposed to attend the Democratic convention. It is at this convention that Hillary Clinton was to accept her presidential nomination by the Democrats. Clinton’s and Soros’ relationship has spanned for over 20 years. Would he have attended the convention, it would have been his first ever. However, George Soros canceled these plans. This is because, according to his close allies, the investor wanted to dedicate his time to monitoring Europe’s economic situation, since he had gone back to active trading.

This time, Soros seems to be engaged in matters of politics more than ever. Those close to him confess that he seems more motivated than he has ever been before. They argue that this is because of his belief in what Clinton stands for. However, what makes him even more indebted to Clinton is that fact that Donald Trump’s ideologies don’t go along with his. For instance, immigration reform and the criminal justice reform on NY Times are ideas that Soros is totally against. Furthermore, Soros has never been a fun of Trump. He was once quoted saying that by stoking fears, Trump works like the ISIS do.

Michael Vachon, Soros’s political advisor, goes ahead to support the fact that Soros seems to be so much into this year’s elections. Vachon states that the political stakes this year are too high, unlike other years. He thinks this is so, because of the different ideologies that the Democrats and the Republicans have. He explains that the rift is not only caused by the fact that Trump is the Republicans’ preferred presidential candidate. Vachon adds that his boss, George Soros, is in support of Hillary Clinton, since most of what she stands for are in line with Soros’ principles.
